Library Information

Talbott Elementary School Library

Our students visit the library and computer lab twice a week on a scheduled basis. Students are treated to story time by our librarian, Jane Combs. Students are  always excited to check out library books and read about great people and far-away places.

Rules for Checking Out Books

Fines for overdue books are NEVER charged.

However, students are expected to pay for lost or damaged books.

Kindergarten: Students may select one book each week, usually beginning in November.  Books are due the following week.

1st grade: Students will check out 1 book from the Everybody section the first semester, and up to 2 books the second semester.

2nd through 5th grade: Students may check out one or two books each week, providing they return any other books they have checked out. Books are due the following week.

Students who forget to return their books may not check out another book until the previous one is returned.

Every Fall we have a Book Fair in the Library with a wide variety of books, posters and learning materials to capture everybody’s interest.

The Library encourages parents to collect Boxtops for Education to increase our collection of library books. This is an easy way to help our Library grow for our children’s enjoyment.

Have a great school year.
